As electrons pass through the Earth's shell, they break up ionto their constiuent photons, and omnipresent light begins to form. The deepest mine that exists - from what I understand - is nine miles deep. And nobdy has reported clear light from within a mine. So this phenomenon must ocurr at a depth in excess of nine miles.
