List members , in 1942 , at the height of WW II , Hitler's Nazi army had made a dash towards the Caucasus oil fields deep inside the Soviet Union - towards present day Azerbaijan by the Caspian Sea.
They even made an attempt on this particular site , to validate their theories of Aryan origin & their ideology of the Occult...there is a Nazi Swastika symbol engraved on a rock at this site , next to an ancient Swastika symbol engraved nearby . The Nazis believed their esoteric quest was worth going to such extreme lengths , as it might help them to discover those hidden powers which could make them invincible .
It seems as though the Germans were thwarted by the Russian forces just before they could start exploring this massive underground site . Local legends of the area talk about huge underground cities that were built in prehistoric times...!
