The Watchers - Underground water in eastern Shasta County in California (US) mysteriously disappears
It is well known. I live in the Mt. Shasta area and there are many lava tubes that go for miles and have never been fully traveled by topsiders. One of the strangest is Pluto Cave which opens in the high plains desert about 10 miles from my house. The further you go, the hotter it gets.
