I have asked the same question as Jason to NOAA people who have
traversed the Arctic Ocean many times.
There IS NO OPENING.
There IS AN OPENING.
This entire "reality" is an 'interactive' hologram. All of it is
holographic, not just parts of it. And that includes the inhabitants,
not just the props. As such, it can be manipulated- and is. Advanced
civilizations, like those residing in the HE, have the ability to
manipulate the hologram and allow you to create your own reality as
it relates to the opening. If you think the Arctic is a frozen, solid
waste land of cold and ice that is what you shall experience. For
those expecting to find an opening there, if they were to visit, that
could be exactly what they experience. Also, 'Human' is not an
advanced specie, it is a holographic work-in-progress .

Tuscan,
I seriously do not discard the hologram idea. But there are those who have
seen things, such as the Byrd comment about the land in the sky, the
mirage/extended reflection of the inner sun that Nansen saw, and the mirage
that MacMillan /Peary/Cook saw. It doesn't have to be.
If it were so, why would they balck out satellite photos and restract travel
to the area?
