Folks , this discovery blurs the lines between mythology and history...you will need to TOTALLY suspend your disbelief - but it seems the ancient Egyptians buried their cat headed Goddess Bastet somewhere along what is today the Bulgaria-Turkey border !
I got goosebumps to think that even fantastical ancient legends such as this one might just have a basis in reality :))

List members , one question which came to my mind while reading this article...why did the ancient Egyptians travel all the way from Egypt to Europe for burying their Goddess ??
It then struck me that 5000 years ago , the Egyptian civilisation was likely spread over a much greater area , even Southern Europe probably being in their influence...all signs of that now seem to have vanished , but that can happen over long stretches of time...hmm !
