List Members,

Sea levels in the world are rising and polar ice is melting. Warmer air is pouring out from within because increased solar activity is heating up the interior. Warm air pours out from the orifices, although immediately around the orifices there is a dense accumulation of ice because that is where the ice flows out from. Again, not that the air is colder around the opening, it must be warmer, but that spot is where the ice flows out from.

I'm not sure I'd draw a conclusion of ice flowing out at Antarctica,
since in many places in Antarctica the ice is 2 miles thick.
And the website you've given is just giving their opinion. Record lows
on a few days may not mean anything, unless you look extensively at the
record highs as well! Best to get more broad data.
There is one site which is much better when looking at artic sea ice of
the north and south poles, and that is at the University of Illinios,
their Cryosphere site.
And I see an interesting thing there on one of their 30 day animations
of the north pole! Check this one out!
http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/CT/animate.arctic.color.2.html

It takes a bit to load... but watch the north pole when the 30 day
animation runs! Look at the one consistent CIRCLE which is above
Greenland!
These images are from a stationary satellite I believe, and my
understanding is they're using infrared technology to detect
temperatures of the edges of the ice cap. However, we'd have to ask
them to be sure. I sent them email several years ago, and the answer I
got was that the images came from NASA, and their 'black spot' was where
satellites didn't have coverage. It didn't make any sense as it looks
like the images are from a stationary site, and they have five different
animations on their University site.
I think we might get some answers from the University if several of us
sent them some random email questions.

Kathy,

I actually had the Arctic in mind when I made the observation about the ice outflow.

And it corresponds oh-so-well to the Japanese weather satellite clip:

That animation is wild!!! The circle-like opening above Greenland is obvious, hats off to ya, I must admit!

Great find Kathy, I love the animation. One can definitely see the outline of the opening. Gary

Just my opinion, regarding the larger circle in the cryosphere images,
is that one can't assume the circle itself is the 'hole'.My conclusion
is only that NASA is hiding something... and one can draw their own
conclusion on what they're hiding. It's very possible they are doing a
video compositing, which is layering of multiple video images.I think
the circle in the cryosphere images is larger than the circle in the
AMSR-E video.Just a speculation, but if the ice temperature they're
measuring close to 90N would show a change of the red color, then they
might have chosen to put a larger circle layer in the cryosphere images
to hide a larger area.I just see it as evidence of a cover up.

Kathy and Gary,

I imagine that the actual opening doesn't have that diameter, but it is indicative of where the neck of the opening is.

The interesting thing about this is that it came from a bona fide source. Perhaps it is some of our better finds of all time.

Oh... and if you don't understand video compositing... this guy can explain it to you. It's a different subject, but he definitely will show you the technology they have now with video layering.
