Sidhartha,

I didn’t write you over the weekend, but here is a quick comment now.

About the size and distance of The Moon, you might have seen that I have been reading the Mahabharata recently. The comments that I have run acrosss haven’t left me with the impression that The Moon is very small. I have just read the comments of Brahma towards the very end of the last volume of the unabridged Debroy translation, and Brahma communicates The Moon and The Sun in the same breath and states that they illuminate the firmament above, the heavens, the orbital plane and below. On Page 447 of the 10th volume Brahma specifically says: “The Moon and The Sun provide illumination to the worlds, adorned by the planets and nakshatras.” The nakshatras are the stars, right? That’s a lot of heavy lifting for the small Moon that we are presented with by Never A Straight Answer.

I just can’t believe how we have been hoodwinked.

Cheers!
