Vital,
That area around northern Greenland and Ellesmere is warmish. The explorer Sir Dr. Nansen spent time there and reported that northen Greenland was the Greatest habitat of the mosquito on Earth. The flies would cover his spoon before he could get it to his mouth.
Admiral Mac Millian reported temperatures of 50* F there in February, while 200 miles to the South it was way below freezing.
The air currents that pass out of the opening typically pass over northern Greenland, and this accounts for the fact that there is no ice sheet there. The only thing that happens is that the snow builds up during the winter and then gives way to green grass during the spring and summer. The reindeer and elk up there remain fat during the winter from the good feed that they get during the year, while further down in norther Canada they become skinny and boney.
Have you done any hollow earth reading about the Arctic evidence? Nansen's book Farthert North is easily available and inexpensive.
