Forbidden Gnosis In Prometheus, Lucifer and Icarus – The Aeon Eye

List members , at first glance , this article seems a bit "off-beat" from the topics we usually discuss in this forum...however a deeper and more careful reading will reveal some powerful correlations :

  1. Prometheus of Greek mythology is the same as Lucifer of the Old Testament
  2. The Vedic character of "Pramatha" or "Pramathyu" is the same as Prometheus - he too steals the "fire" (probably symbolising divine knowledge) from somewhere far away and gifts it to mankind for the benefit of entire humanity
  3. In Greek literature and in the Old Testament , Prometheus/Lucifer is then shown to be punished by Zeus , for his audacity (of helping humans) , by being thrown into the bottomless pit or Sheol (underworld)...hmmm - sounds like a clear hollow Earth reference to me !
  4. Greek literature goes as far so to credit Prometheus with "creating mankind from clay" !! The old Testament though interprets Lucifer as the serpent in the Garden of Eden.
  5. There is also some mention in ancient literature of Pandora (not Eve) being the first woman created by the Gods .
  6. Both the Greek literature as well as the Old Testament credit Prometheus/Lucifer and some other supernatural beings like them - " the shining ones" , as having passed on ALL of the knowledge that we now take for granted - agriculture, metallurgy , astrology , architecture , craftsmanship , handwriting etc. etc. , basically everything that enabled ancient man to live in a civilised manner and pass on that knowledge generation after generation , till the present day...

Do recall too Sidhartha that "shining ones" is interpretable to having
scales / being reptilian. It seems that these shining ones or scaled ones
walked in the garden and it was not an uncommon thing for them to speak
with and be with Man...

Yes Soretna , these "Shining Ones" seem to be the same as the Elohim of the Old Testament . In Greek literature , Prometheus himself is the creator of mankind (from clay) , a task which he carried out on the command of Zeus . The Hebrew texts again , describe the Elohim as the creators of mankind . Also , here is a very interesting extract from this same article , which suggests that mankind first emerged onto the Earth's surface from within deep dark caves !!

Prometheus gives his services to humanity, as explained in Aeschylus’ ancient play, Prometheus Bound:
"They lived deep within dark caves, and swarmed the earth like throngs of ants. They could not recognize the signs of winter, nor spring with its flowers, nor fruit-laden summer, so they did everything without any rational plan, until I taught them to read the risings of stars and their settings, which up to now they ignored. I gave them numbers, that knowledge most to be prized, and the art of writing words to help memory, the mother of all the muses. I first yoked beasts and made them work so they could relieve Man’s back of his heaviest burdens. I harnessed horses to the chariot and made them respond to reins, a delight for the wealthy. It was me who invented the ship with sails that wanders the sea, a chariot for sailors. All this, to my own misery, I dared to invent and pass on to Man, but for all my cleverness I could devise no escape from my present suffering."

List members , I noticed that the ancient theme around "Theft of fire" , associated with Prometheus/Lucifer (the light bearer) , is in fact universal , cutting across all cultures . In the Rig Veda , the same character has been called Pramatha/Pramathyu (sounds so very similar to Prometheus) , he has alternatively been called "Matarisvan" in the Vedas , who recovered fire (Agni) , which had been hidden from humanity .

It seems this myth of stealing fire is symbolic of something deeper - it's about hidden knowledge , knowledge that critical for early , primitive humans to build their own civilisation :

Theft of fire

  • In the Book of Enoch, the fallen angels and Azazel teach early humanity to use tools and fire.
  • In one of the versions of Georgian myth, Amirani stole fire from metalsmiths, who refused to share it – and knowledge of creating it – with other humans.
  • In Norse Mythology Loki gains the secret of fire from an eagle in exchange for the hams and shoulders of sacrificed oxen. [2]
  • Among various Native American tribes of the Pacific Northwest and First Nations, fire was stolen and given to humans by Coyote, Beaver or Dog. [3]
