Speaking of online books, here is Nansen's book, Farthest North.
A good deal of the Arctic body of evidence refers to him and the expedition thatn he mounted in the ship Fram. They experienced anomolies such as polar warming, pollen clouds, clouds of volcanic ash, mamalian life, the mock Sun, mosquitos galore, and a few other things.
So why not read the book directly and get some information first hand? I have attached my Nansen Notes from the book which will pinpoint the anomolies by page number, at least according to the edition that I read, and this should be able to help you all out a bit.
