Dean , that thought struck me as well...what if that underground civilisation beneath the Pyramids of Giza , is still alive and kicking in some form , just that they keep at arm's length from mankind on the surface ??
There is also recurring talk in many forums about "a Hall of records" , hidden somewhere beneath the desert sands of Egypt , in a huge subterranean chamber , which has a record of entire human history & it's origins (mostly unknown to the mainstream scholars) , almost like the so called "akashic records" .

All so true.
But this just brings us back to square one. We even know where entrances are to the cavern worlds below, but those populations aren't usually very favorable to us, and we dare not stick our necks out and go down there, nor do we have the resources, and somebody would stop us. They are laws governing caving, for example.
I think those populations simply want to jockey for position and secure the high ground above their worlds, and we are but armed marionettes.
