Vitally,
It might be smaller since it's on the inner side.
You know, Cater even speaks of a binary Sun. He feels that Mars shouldn't heat up as much as it does during spring and summer, but that the existence of a binary could account for it. This means that to our line of sight, the binary would always be on the other side.
The Moon always spins in such a way that it keeps the same face towards us, and at eclipse time, it tightly and exactly covers the surface of the Sun, no more, no less, and you can see the prominences. Well, if the Moon can do that, the Sun can have a binary. Truth is stranger than fiction.

Hi Dean
Thanks for the explanation .
Therefore with that in mind the Sun would be 4 times as big as they say it is at the present .

Vital,
I'll just touch on one his arguments and say the he (Joseph H. Cater) feels that there is a refraction effect between the Earth and Mars because of the particles that fill the solar system in circular strata around the Sun, i.e., that they act like a refracting lens. This would apply not only to particles of light, but to the radar that passes between the Earth to Mars.
From close up probes have measured the width of Olympus Mars, that huge mountain on the Martian surface. It seems that if you were to use it as a measuring stick and measure across the Martian surface, taking
latitude into consideration, it would show that Mars is wider than they say.
It's in his book.

Crazy Alien Weather: Lightning-Filled Rocket Dust Storms of Mars
http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2013/01/rocket-dust-storms/
The article states:
"The Red Planet is a very dry and dusty place, with global storms that sometimes obscure the entire surface. Satellites orbiting Mars have seen persistent dust layers reaching very high altitudes, as much as 30 to 50 km above the ground, though scientists are at a loss to explain exactly how the dust got there."
Of course they can't figure out how the dust got so high, because they are married to the idea that Mars has 3% of the atmosphere that the Earth has. This goes contrary to observation, for example, of thick and sprawling cloud cover as high as 15 miles above the Martian surface, something that even the Earth's atmosphere isn't thick enough to produce.
Take other looks at the martian atmosphere:
