Craters Messier and change on the Moon.
One of the greatest lunar observers of the 1800s was Reverend Thomas Webb. He paid special attention to the idea that there was change occurring on the surface of the Moon, and he made comparisons with the observations of yesteryear.
He is an " change " that he observed. We'll read from Epic Moon:
" In Mare Fecunditatis, the name Messier had been given to one of two small craters lying side by side at the end of parallel white streaks ' resembling the divided tail of a comet.' Schroeter had drawn the region, so had Beer and Madler, who claimed to have inspected the formation no fewer than 300 times between 1829 and 1837. They always found the two craters 'as alike as two peas in a pod- perfectly and singularly alike in size, shape, height of ring, depth of cavity, and even in the position of some peaks upon the ring.' Nothing, apparently, could be more definite; but Webb, on November 14, 1855, and on many occasions afterwards, found that whatever had been their previous resemblance the two craters were no longer peas in a pod. The difference between them was in fact so great ' as to indicatea permanent alteration on the surface in the space of twenty years.'"
Webb was using a 3.7 inch refractor in order to make his comparisons, which was similar in size and type to the instrument that Madler had used.
Madler had a reputation as a serious observer who had debunked any previous idea of life on the Moon, and Webb himself was no fool. The Messier craters are plenty large enough to see without becoming confused; currently, Messier is 9 x 11 kilometers, and Messier A is 9 x 13, and they sit open and exposed in a plain, with nothing else around to confuse the observer.
To say that change has occurred is to say that an agent of change existed or exists, which is not supposed to, such as: intelligent life, or erosion in the form of water and atmosphere.
Mainstream scientific agencies minimize these changes, they don't want you to know that there is life nearby, because one thing leads to another. It is suspected that some of the UFOs who abduct people come from within the solar system. Maybe they come from within the planets, from the cavern worlds below their surfaces.
All such speculation stops, however, if they can substantiate that the other planets of the solar system are barren and devoid of ife, as well as inhospitable to life.
