Eric Dollard, a brilliant and controversial electrical engineer, is best known for resurrecting and expanding on the work of Nikola Tesla. In his work, “The Fallacy of Conductors and the Proof of the Aether,” Dollard challenges core assumptions in mainstream electromagnetism and modern physics—particularly regarding:

THE FALLACY OF CONDUCTORS

Modern electrical engineering teaches that electrical energy is “conducted” through metallic wires, much like water through a pipe. This is the conduction model—and it's false, according to Dollard. Here’s why:

1. Misconception: Electrons Carry Energy Through the Wire

Conventional theory claims that electrons move through the conductor, transferring energy.

But in reality, electrons drift extremely slowly (~mm/s).

So how can energy travel at near light speed if the supposed carriers are crawling?

2. Real Energy Movement: Outside the Conductor

The electric (E) and magnetic (B) fields form a transverse electromagnetic (TEM) wave that travels in the space around the wire, not inside it.

The wire acts more like a waveguide or boundary condition—not a pipe.

Dollard insists that energy flows in the dielectric (aetheric) field surrounding the conductor.

3. Impedance and Reflection Prove This

In transmission line theory, energy reflects and refracts based on impedance discontinuities, not electron flow.

This behavior is field-based and aetheric, not corpuscular.

PROOF OF THE AETHER

Dollard boldly proclaims that the aether not only exists, but is necessary to explain how electricity and light really work. Here are his main proofs:

1. Tesla’s Longitudinal Waves

Tesla spoke of non-Hertzian waves, which Dollard reproduces in experiments.

These waves are longitudinal dielectric waves—not transverse EM radiation.

They require a medium—an aether—to propagate, just like sound requires air.

2. Displacement Current Requires Aether

Maxwell’s equations contain the term for displacement current:

But what is “D”? It's the electric displacement field—a vector field in the dielectric medium.

Dollard argues: You cannot have a “displacement” unless there’s a substance being displaced—i.e., aether.

Einstein abolished the aether to preserve relativity, not because it was disproven.

But Dollard counters that this creates a purely abstract universe, lacking physical substance.

Fields can’t exist in “nothing.” They require a substratum—the aether.

4. Field Interaction Implies Medium

The interaction between magnetic and electric fields produces energy flow (Poynting vector).

But where are these fields located? And what do they act upon?

Dollard argues: this entire interaction implies an underlying medium that can be polarized, compressed, rotated, etc.

5. Transverse vs Longitudinal Propagation

In true Tesla/Dollard transmission systems (like Tesla coils), the signal propagates longitudinally, not transversely.

These waves:

Move faster than light in certain configurations.

Penetrate Faraday cages.

Don’t behave like EM waves.

All of which violates Maxwellian assumptions but confirms aetheric theory.
