People,
I've been seeing articles on the net about the melting that is going on in Antarctica, and scientists are talking about a significant rise in the sea levels, 20 - 25 feet.
Has there been more solar activity recently? I thought that the Sun has been less intense in recent years. More solar activity should heat up the inner cavity, and the resulting heat would pour out of the egress.
Speaking of the egress, I am under the impression that the opening is between Vostok and the
South Pole, but a bit more towards the center.

Distances? Well, remember that when we look at maps, we are looking
at something three dimensional depicted on a flat surface, so
relative distances in the middle of the Antarctic continent are not
properly depicted. In the center of the image, not far from Mc Murdo, where the image is dark, is where it is.
