Yes, the area where Atlantis was, was full of muddy water which made navidation impossiblçe, and the ships in those days were shallow-draft vessels.
Also, it was shallow enough for reeeds to pop up above the surface.
Thus, Atlantis does not lie at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
