Thanks very much for the bountiful replies. It is nice to see similar avenues explored.

Eric:
Ever wonder how the images of Santa Claus and Satan are so similar and how
deeply rooted in our culture they are. it is nothing other, I believe than a
species memory kept alive to remind us that the planet is indeed hollow and
that at one point we were in contact with the inhabitants. Some of the same topics you bring up are discussed in my book. Yggdrasil,
and its subterranean meaning, is examined in great detail in the section
ECHOES OF THE WORLD CAULDRON, which has also been published online in a few
different web-magazine and journal sites.Last Christmas season, the Fortean Times did yet *another* examination of
the Santa as Satan myth. Actually, this description isn't quite accurate
from my perspective; trade Santa's reindeer in for goats, and you've got
Thor, the Scandinavian thunder-god, beard and all. Thor dwelt in Asgard;
Asgard was located "within" the world-tree Yggdrasil; according to Norse
tradition, Yggdrasil was rooted in the north, root-worlds sunk deep into the
earth, with the pole star (rich with shamanistic meaning) at the top. Sound
familiar? It should, since it's the shamanistic ancestor of the Christmas
Tree. The shaman would journey, in spirit or in body, up and down the
world-tree and into "other worlds," which were actually subterranean in
nature. The tale of Ragnarok, the Norse version of Apocalypse, makes it
clear that all of these "lands" were located at either the ultimate northern
reach of the world (the lands, of gods, giants, elves, the
underworld/dead-land, etc.), or the southernmost region (from which the
fire-giant Surt would come, literally "out of the underworld" for the final
battle). All of these "branches and roots," or underworld cavern realms,
bordered a larger, empty region, which was filled with mist, called
"Ginnungagap," or "seemingly empty." "Seemingly Empty=Bottomless Pit=Hollow
Earth (the inner space, not the land area). Saint Nicholas, in his most
popular modern incarnation, is a variant of a shaman/trickster, and
ultimately seems to be a mixture of the Norse Gods Odin and Thor (Santa has
"eight tiny reindeer;" Odin rode the "eight-legged horse Sleipnir," or
Sleep. Go to sleep kiddees, or Santa won't come.....).You mention Sitchin. You really should read my book. The parallel between
the Norse underworld Niflheim (literallly, "land of the Nifle") and the
imprisonment beneath the Earth of the Hebraic Nephilim or Nefilim, who were
the same as the Annunaki, is obvious and supported by overwhelming evidence.
And that is where your abduction scenario comes in, for the reason for the
imprisonment of Nefilim in the cavern-worlds was their fancy for human
ladies, whom they would abduct in their "fire chariots" or else visit and
impregnate in the dead of night. The parallel to the modern UFOlogical
accounts is obvious.Eric,
Mike Mott has written quite a bit on underground/inner shell abductions,
especially in relation to Celtic culture. Have you seen his stuff?http://www.hiddenmysteries.com/cartwebtv/af/hm01/index0.html
His new book is called Caverns and Concealed Creatures.
Dharma/Dean
Dean, rather than post an excerpt, I'd rather go on in this vein whenever
possible, as it keeps my brain churning and making more and more
connections, maybe for the next round of articles....Thanks for telling Eric about the book! I particularly recommend the CDROM
for the quality of images (still PC-only at this point, but a Mac version is
in the works).Best,
--Mike
