Micaela, some of us have known about the The University of Illinois cryospere images for some time. One thing you can say, is that they continually place black dots over 90N. I have written them to ask why.
May I suggest that you write them an email and ask why as well?

And you should be aware that those images are most likely infrared or simulated infrared, not normal photographic images.
