I was reading the book UFOs in Brazil by Antonio Faleiro yesterday,
and came across an interesting anecdote. this was with reference to
the region of Brazil near Varginha, where the UFO crash took place.
I will translate the interesting part from page 112:
" Many [UFOs] have been seen entering, or coming out of, mudslides.
On certain occasions they submerge into or out of rivers and
lakes. ... "
"2.41 Spirit Orb in the River"
"In 1937, Mr. Sebastian José Gonçalves experienced something without
precedence. when he was a child, together with a schoolmate, they
were swimming in a river in an area known as Ouro Fino when, all of
the sudden, they witnessed a small, reddish spirit orb come out of a
nearby hill and fly over to the river. The spirit orb dived into the
water and began to throw up sand and water, as if it were penetrating
the bottom of the river bed. This went on for a few minutes, then the
activity stopped all of the sudden. The boys examined the area where
the orb had gone into, but they found nothing, in spite of the
riverbed being in shallow water. The spirit orb had penetrated the
water and disappeared."
