Yep. The sphinx was obviously once pure lion that later had a human face carved in it, imho.
Also, I’m not convinced that the Egyptians made it, or even knew why it had been carved.

Did the Balochistan Sphinx have the head of a lion, too?
That whole Balochistan area seems to be so huge to me. I think it is made up of many buildings that were exploded and defaced and that had all of their details wiped away, so to speak.
