Dear Mike,
Glad you observed that. I think Thor is a movie which Hollow Earth enthusiasts can greatly relate to. Here are the reasons why:
1. The Nordic GOD Thor is in many ways similar to Vedic GOD Indra2. Vedic system believes that there are 6 realms above earth. 3. And GOD Indra resides in the realm above earth called Swarga.4. GOD Thor resides in Asgard, the realm above earth (Note the slight similarity in names)5. Both Nordic and Vedic mythologies came out of the root Indo-Aryan religion. 6. The later has a lot of references to Hollow Earth (As our beloved Dean has already researched well on the subject).7. Indra is the king of heaven and constantly struggles to keep his post. While Thor is next in line after Odin the king of Asgard.
In both the mythologies, the wars of the GODs are often spilled on to earth. How did they come to earth? Portals/Wormholes? Poles perhaps.
As they say "There was once a time when men used to travel freely between worlds".It might probably go on to suggest that the poles are actually portals/wormholes to different worlds. The founders of Thule society claimed the poles to be portals to the Aldebaran star system.
Even till this day, Vedic people chant the names of 7 realms (including earth) in their daily morning prayers.
I kept this e-mail short. Please let me know if I made any contradictions.
P.S: And yes both Thor and Indra are GODs of thunder.

I love you knowledge Janakiram. I have been reading about the Thule society,
poles, portals and wormholes. How also some old tribes in Africa
and South America knew about the stars
and spaceships right before modern science found out about them. Fascinating
worlds.

And besides being the god of thunder, Thor is the name of my new Great
Dane puppy! He is Thor, Destroyer of Worlds and Shoes. I guess I
should have come up with a nice Hollow Earth name for him, like King of
the World or Lobsang, but Thor it is.
