Worth recalling the half-man half-fish Oannes mentioned here:
Sure sounds like topics we've discussed before including the naga.

@Soretna , over the last few days I managed to watch this whole video - it's a really fascinating story of Sumerian civilization.
I notice that each and every ancient civilisation credits "some higher power or entity" for imparting to them the basic skills of civilisation...NOT one of them claims the credit for having figured out complex skills and crafts like metallurgy , weaving of cloth , building cities , by themselves .
Indeed all ancient civilizations invariably credit such "entities" for giving them the gift of language itself and the written alphabet .
Despite such a consistent pattern , modern anthropologists continue to insist that our primitive human ancestors going "grunt , grunt" in the forest , somehow miraculously figured out stuff like metallurgy , astrology , astronomy , how to build houses , how to do irrigation and agriculture , which crops to grow , etc. etc. , just by trial and error with NO external help at all !
Regards
Folks , it is quite amazing to note that the Atharva Veda (one of the four Vedas) mentions the name of two Naga beings iligi and viligi , who were also named in Assyrian/Sumerian texts from 3000 B.C. !
