I've always thought of Shambhala as being juxtaposed to Eden (as per The Smoky God (ST, GTBG)). I can't help but have this itch at the back of my mind that Shambhala (Shambala) is a reptilian influenced center as opposed to the Vedic-Nordic Eden... This, to me, makes a lot of sense with regards to the primary oriental dragon concepts and societal positioning, etc. (Also Naga of the same region.)
I bet @Ephraimite would have some thoughts on this...
Soretna,
The Shambala concept that we get from Tibet is that it is in the crust below that region of the Earth. But the whole concept is a corrupted perception of the real Shambala in the hollow earth. It is a concept that has been overwhelmed by asiatic reptile and dragon influence, something like that.
All of India and lower Central Asia, across to Ethiopia and Northern Africa, were a part of that culture. Following the linguistics and genetic/racial similarities between the South Indian Dravidians and the Mayan culture, I think that what we see in the Mayan culture is what existed in these areas before the Aryans came down from the Arctic area and imposed their structures upon the people. This was done by the Aryan warrior caste and by the Aryan brahmin/priestly caste that imposed Vedic religion.
But after the Bhagavad Gita War and after the cloud mantle fell, I think that they were cut off from their Arctic and hollow earth basis and they just started mingling, and it all started falling apart.
In the India, I think that the pervious culture still shines through because there is all kinds of balck magic, serprent worship and worship of underground deities.
Just check out this story! It's short:

My intro to the idea of Hollow Earth as a teen in HS.
@Soretna I agree. I think Shamballa and Eden are indeed closely situated, or at least in some degree of proximity to each other. I take The Smoky God seriously. I do not see a reason for Olaf Jansen to lie, especially when he was ridiculed and thrown into insane asylums for what he said. In my experience, anyone who is so ridiculed for telling something totally benign, is probably telling the truth.
I don't know exactly what (if any) presence reptilians or naga have within the earth's interior. I'm not extremely well-versed on Shamballa myths. But what you say is possible, as far as I know.
@Keith LOL! I guess we all have our own ways of getting into this subject
I'd like to see a map with some "known" locations on some hypothesized geological mapping of the inner/concave portion of the planet. For example, it seems that Shamballa is roughly below Tibet. I believe that Eden is roughly below Missouri in the USA.
Some extrapolation is possible with these various books such as Olaf's record...
Very interesting idea. Definitely worth exploring.
