Bernard, R. W. - The Hollow Earth.pdf (1.3 MB)
The book by Bernard is a classic, and an easy read. It touches many bases and is enjoyable.
This is the first time I've tried to send an attachment through this list, let's see how it works.

attachment came through fine, thanks
Greyartist,
Great! I am happy to see that it did.
I'll say to you and to everyone that the book, The Hollow Earth, is available in hard copy through the internet, there are many old copies floating around. It is worth acquiring and tucking it away because the time is coming when we won't be able to communicate like this on lists anymore. It isn't just Facebook that is being censured.
Here are a few snippets from the book just to give you all the flavor of it. Chapter Nine, Page 226 of my edition: "One of the early German settlers in Santa Catarina [a Brazilian state] wrote and published a bookin old Gewrman, dealing with the subterranean world, deriving his information from the indians. The book described the world as being hollow, with a sun in its center. The interior of the Earth was said to be inhabited by a disease-free, long-lived race of frutarians. The subterranean world, the book claimed, was connected by tunnels with the surface, and these tunnels, it was claimed, open mostly in Santa Catarina and surrounding parts of South Brazil".
Chapter Eleven: "B.C. 223; Bright Light, three Moons. At ariminiuma bright light like the day blazed out at night; in many portions of Italy three Moons became visible in the nighttime."
By Dio Casssius, Roman History Book I
"B.C. 222: Three Moons. Also three Moons have appeared at once, for instance, over the consulship of Gnaeus Domitus andGaius Fanius."
"Pliny, Natural History, Book II, Chapter 32 A.D. 70: Chariots in the sky. On the 21st of May, a demoniac phantom of incredible size ... For before sunset there appeared in the air over the whole country chariots and armed troops coursing through the clouds and surrounding the cities."
Josephus, Jewish War, Book CXI
I'll pass on some more snippets later.

List Members,
This drawing is from the book, The Hollow Earth, and a few lines of explanation are included:

In Chapter Seven, Pages 189 - 190 of my edition, there is an interesting part about the origin of these comments about flying saucers coming from within the planet, and not from outside of the solar system (not from Zeta Reticuli!)
"In his book, 'They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers', Barker speaks of the 'Antarctic Mystery' or the unusual number of flying saucers seen to ascend and descend in the region of The SOuth Pole, which strongly supports the theory of a polar opening through which flying saucers emerge from and enter into the hollow interior of the Earth."
Also, "Theodore Fitch is another American writer who believes that flying saucers come from the hollow interior of the Earth. In his book, 'Our Paradise inside the Earth', he writes: 'Writers of books on flying saucers believe that they come from other planets. But how can that be? They are too far away. Traveling at terrific speeds it would take a lifetime to make the trip from planets of other solar systems.'"
"Fitch claims, as does Palmer, that the 'spacemen' who come to us in flying saucers who pose as visitors of other planets, are really members of an advanced civilization in the hollow interior of the Earth, who have important reasons for keeping their place of origin secret, for which reason they purposely foster the false belief that they come from other planets.'"
The copyright on the book is no longer in effect because the author died a long time ago.
