Dean,

As you have written that anyone who would like to contribute to the orgone question is welcome to do so, I would like to share some of my thoughts, although they come more from intuition, as I have no academic training in this field.

We seem to have come to the conclusion that these specks of light, one can see under certain circumstances, are orgone. You say, Carter writes orgone reflects light. I feel, orgone IS light, although not always visible to our eyes. If I remember correctly, orgone/prana is also called the "life-force". The life-force must have Godly qualities, as one of God's visible aspects is light, as many mystics have experienced. Also we have the light, the Godly aspect in us, and sometimes we can see an instant flash of it. So this orgone/life force can be accumulated in certain devices, like a power rod and used for healing as well as for destruction. If it is around us in condensed form, it can be perceived as real light, as mentioned in Etidorpha:" The brightness was of a species that while it brought into distinctness objects that were near at hand, lost its unfolding power or vigor a short distance beyond." Our eyes are probably only able to perceive orgone light up to a certain distance away from us.

Then something else has caught my attention: In Etidorpha there is the following passage:
" From time to time I experienced strains of melody, such as never before I had conceived, seemingly choruses of angels were singing in and to my very soul. From empty space around me, from the depths of my spirit within me, came these strains in notes clear and distant, but yet indescribable".
Now, as we are human souls, we have the "light" in us, and light is a vibration as well as particles, and we can also experience this vibration as an inner sound, which I can say from my own experience, and it is very much alike to the above quoted text. It can well be, that the Man, being surrounded by this intensified life force/orgon, could also perceive this vibration of light as a vibration of sound.

What a nice, insightful post on orgone.

Orgone particles are certainly particles of light. They are a type of
light.

I agree with you that a lot of the question has to do with our being
able to perceive orgone. I mean, we only perceive in this realm, we
only perceive the particles which our senses can perceive, and only
the frequencies which our senses can perceive. Some animals seem to
be able to perceive in certain frequencies which we can´t, like cats.
The Guide in Etidorhpa said " darkness touches upon my nerves." I
imagine that he could perceive the orgone flow.

Some people with gifted perception perceive light which accompanies
sound. I think that our sense perception imposes stringent parameters
on us.
