If you look close at the Moon, on a clear night,
you can see this darkness near the corners, only
during the "crescent," or half-moon. I think this
may be due to the particular angle of the Sun to
the Moon makes the curvatures in the Moon's
polar openings visable. I am not the only one
who can see this, please take a look.
