Metoers or volcanic Eruptions?

From Chapter three of William Reed�s book, Phantom of the Poles:

"5. Meteors are constantly falling near the supposed poles. Why? If the
earth be solid, no one can answer this question. If the earth is hollow, it
is easily answered. Some volcano is in eruption in the interior of the
earth, and from it rocks are thrown into the air. Vast quantities of dust
are constantly found in the Arctic Ocean. What causes this dust? The
volcanic eruptions. The dust has been analyzed and found to consist of
carbon and iron, which must come from some volcano in the polar opening.

In other words, the dust drifts out of the opening. The supposed metoers get
depoited on ice tongues and icebergs and the like, and floats out upon the
ice ( along with the mammoth- ha ha ha! )
