Jarasnada and the Hollow Earth

People,

Perhaps it is time to return to the hollow earth in the Puranas
theme. Consider this narration from the Bhagavat Purana, as
summarized in the Krishna Book, Chapter 52, by A.C. Bhaktivedanta
Swami. Here is one interesting piece:

"After traversing a very long distance, the brothers pretended to
become very tired. To mitigate Their weariness They climbed up a very
high mountain several miles above sea level. This mountain was called
Pravarsana due to constant rain. The peak was always covered with
clouds sent by Indra. Jarasandha took it for granted that the two
brothers were afraid of his military power and had hidden Themselves
at the top of the mountain. First he tried to find Them, searching
for a long time, but when he failed he decided to trap and kill Them
by setting fires around the peak. He therefore surrounded the peak
with oil and set it on fire. As the blaze spread more and more, Krsna
and Balarama jumped from the top of the mountain down to the ground--
a distance of eighty-eight miles. Thus, while the peak was burning
up, Krsna and Balarama escaped without being seen by Jarasandha.
Jarasandha concluded that the two brothers had been burned to ashes
and that there was no need of further fighting. Thinking himself
successful in his efforts, he left the city of Mathura and returned
to his home in the kingdom of Magadha. Gradually Krsna and Balarama
reached the city of Dvaraka, which was surrounded on all sides by the
sea."

Well- let´s put this into perspective. Satellites orbit at altitudes
as low as 110 miles. The highest known mountain in the solar system
in Olympus Mons on Mars, which is 15 miles high. But here we read of
a peak on this earth towering 88 miles high.

First of all, keep in mind that Shree Krishna and Balaram were
avatars of Godhead, and that when Maha Vishnu was approached by the
celestial being that the Hindus like to call demigods, He indicated
that he would incarnate, rather descend, and the that celestial
beings should take birth before Him to assist him in his pastimes.
Perhaps this explains their 88 mile "jump". Anyway, focus on the
description, i.e., a peak which is 88 miles high, and we´ll go from
there.

On the surface of planets, we don´t see this type of geology.
But what about within? Think of a geode. A geode has a fairly smooth
surface, but the interior crystals are rather jagged. If the interior
of the Earth follows this proportion at all, then mountains of that
height are not so far-fetched.

And this personality Jarasandha? He was mentioned in the Mahabharata,
(abridged version by Krishna Dharma, Torchlight Publishing. 1999, Ch.
16, p. 164):

Shree Krishna said to Yudhisthira Maharaj:

"You are fit in every way to perform the Rajasuya sacrifice and
become the world emperor, but you will first have to overthrow the
powerful Jarasandha, who has formed a near invincible alliance with
numerous other monarchs. He has extended his influence and control
throughout the middle portion of the earth and designs on the rest.
He is the biggest stumbling block to your plans."

How about that? Jarasandha was active in the hollow Earh, where the
Vedic city Shamballa is located, and Krishna and His brother Balarama
had a run-in with him in the vicinity of an 88 mile high mountain.

This was recorded by the Hindus in the Sanskrit language, a very
sophisticated language, the Hindus also being people advanced in math
and algebra, calendar systems, ect., so there is something to all
this.

I think that the Hollow Earth Theory helps to save the Vedic
literature from the mockery of sheer disbelief, disbelief in
statements which seem bizarre and absurd when not understood in the
light of the hollow Earth Theory.
