BTW, there is mention on this site (and/or in the book)
http://www.ourhollowearth.com/
..that one explorer was able to enter a North polar hole
by traveling right through a holographic ice berg. If the
explorer is to be believed, that would lead to some support
to tuscan's ideas.
One major thing that I think is missing in Cater's books is
research into the possibility of an earth grid system. This
would help to explain the Burmuda Triangle & the Devils Triangle.
(Maybe he mentions it but I missed it..)
Here's a good description:

...that I got from this link that's full of links.
This also has very interesting mentions of Egyptian caves
in the Grand Canyon as well:

I have a tape that is a composite of HE information that was given
around 1978-1980. In it the source of the information, and it's where
I first learned that the earth is hollow, said to an
interviewer: "When you come to a great iceberg, push and it will
open." The interviewer said: "I don't understand." To which it was
replied: "You will."
Since we don't have icebergs at the NP, additional consideration
might be given to what's happening at the SP. Remember Olaf came back
out via a river that entered into the ocean. He was not in the
interior of the continent.
This information might also provide some clues to the NP situation.

Correction: The tape said: "When you come to a great wall, push and
it will open." Etc.

Jeff,
In chapter 20, he does talk about a system of nodes which the magnetic lines
of force follow, instead of the traditional idea that they envelope the
whole planet like a canopy and only touch down again at the opposite pole.
He talks about nodes at various latitudes, and how soft particles and even
air currents follows these lines. Is this what you mean by a grid system?
At the end of Chapter 34 of The Ultimate Reality, he talks about a place in
Mexico where he thinks that the shell of the Earth is thinner, and wherefrom
soft particles seem to be able to radiate right through the shell. He
mentions the effect on the unusual plant life, insect life and animals in
that area.
