For the Earth is Hollow...

Among the multitude of unseen lands such as Atlantis and Mu is the Hollow Earth. Now you may say that the lava and magma that spew forth from the depths of the Earth, but there are many theories and several first- hand accounts of Agartha, the subterranean world.
Edmund Halley, of Halley's Comet fame, was one of the first to propose that the center was inhabitable. John Cleves Symmes, an American in the early Nineteenth century, almost succeeded in getting an expedition to search the Arctic region; he was stopped by Pres. Andrew Jackson.
More theories and suppositions arose with the Spiritualist Movement that began in the early Nineteenth century and ran through the early Twentieth century. The Nazis picked up the theory, along with other occult theories. The Hollow Earth got a new boost in the 1980's with a rerelaese of R. W. Bernard's book The Hollow Earth.
