Got the itch?

Deano,

I have a small telescope, and do attend some of the local
NYC AAA gatherings in Central Park, but thanks for the
encouragement. By the way, I was anxiously awaiting a
response of what the host of this site, Dean D. Delucia,
thought about my discovery of the points, or "Claw's,"
as my brother coined the term, on the Moon? Have you
been looking into that? I was wondering what you thought
about my claim that these were the polar entrances to the
Hollow Moon, but you have not responded at all to that,
so if you get a chance could you let me know what you think?
I know you are busy doing all kinds of different things, but if
you have the time could you please let me know? It's been
almost a year since I have been posting information on this,
and I still don't know what you saw when you looked up to the
Moon, after I posted that request on the site numerous time.

Mike,

I mentioned in a post that I feel you are looking at some of those craters around the very northern part of the Moon, the arctic circle of the MJoon, shall we say. I emtioned Anaximander as one of them, and Carpinter is another one. You can find them in alphabetical order in the ...

"Digital Lunar Orbiter Photographic Atlas of the Moon, Database"

http://www.lpi.usra.edu/resources/lunar_orbiter/bin/lst_crd.shtml?slat

They mostly seem to be deep for flat-bottomed craters (called walled-plains), and they are kind of elongated along a North and South direction, and this could explain your "claw-like" perception. Their depth gets exagerrated when we look at them visually because of the angle and curvature of the northern part of the Moon. So that could be suggesting an opening.

We have the southern opening pegged, it is between Malapert and Shoemaker, where they left in a fizzied-out black area, in the next-to-the lat image:

I meant to say "where they left in a fuzzied out area."
