Seems to have its full share of idiot-fodder super-macho unrealism yet, maybe slightly interestingly, the theme seems now to be moving away from "threat from outer space" (the long-running CIA/Govt/Hollywood compact) and towards "threat from below" (under the Earth) and "interdimensional portal threat".

A cynic (or conspiracist) could have fun speculating on the reasons for that change of direction and maybe forecasting future (but already planned) social outcomes.

Ray

Great - more hogwash from "Hollyweird" I am not amused...

Ha! Maybe I should be grateful that overseas work kept me away from TV and Cinema since my teens, and even now - with no TV (by principle) and no wish to go to cinemas or buy DVDs - never see anything unless friends insist I watch something with them, or maybe it comes up on Youtube. (A lady friend bought `Blade Runner' because she knew I'd read Dick's book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" and we watched it together several times, usually at Xmas - a rare good film)

Perhaps that way one avoids being caught by current Hollywood brainwashing? - some of those films certainly look weird (mainly ridiculous) at a distance of ten or so years.
