Mysterious Disappearances part 2

An Entire Village Gone Without A Trace

Some of the very strangest paranormal activity occurs in places and to people who you last expect it to. The very strange phenomena of entire villages and/or communities vanishing without a trace may seem initially ludicrous, but there have been a few examples that defy all sense of logic and perception.

One quite disturbing example of this occurred in November 1930, when an entire Eskimo Village with a population of over 2000 just vanished without a trace. It all became apparent when a tracker who had spent the last 2 weeks camping in the wilderness, returned home to find nothing but unearthly silence. The village itself was still there, but all the tribe had vanished completely. Even stranger, all the cooking pots were simmering gently on the stoves, the rifles and kayaks were all neatly tied up ready for use, and rugs were in place in their huts. The only explanation there was seemed to suggest that the whole community had just walked off in the middle of a normal day.

This was extremely strange in itself, but there were a few things that suggested that something unnatural had occurred. All the village's sleigh dogs were found buried deep down within a snow drift on the edge of the area, all of them starved to death. The graves of all the tribe's ancestors had been ripped open and the bodies removed, even though this was impossible due to the ice hard ground. There were no tracks leading away from the village at all, and even after an extensive search around the whole county, the team was unable to locate any of the missing tribe.

actually, when i read this, the very first thing which comes to mind is "The Rapture." basically, what is described here, to the best of my understanding, is exactly what might be found after "the rapture" (a rapture?) has occurred.
