Cross-post: Re: Human (?) Predators

Dear Mike,
In conjunction with your article on shape-shifters, you and all
you
other Fantasticrealists might do well to check out a sci-fi horror
novel
I first mentioned here a couple of months ago, Dean Koontz's
TWILIGHT
EYES (1986). Koontz described a race of murderously
vicious shape-shifters living among us, masquerading as
ordinary human
beings but with a somewhat reptilian "real" form.

T. Peter, it's good to hear from you! I was actually contemplating
dropping you a line to check on you due to your long silence!

I would like to read Koontz's book TWILIGHT EYES. It sounds
somewhat similar to the story/movie SLEEPWALKERS, by King.
I think there is a very strong link between the topics discussed in
the Demonseed article and the Shapeshifting article:

I meant to paste the demonseed article URL here and on Dean's
list group earlier, but posted the wrong one (Dean, the Windsor
information you were asking about is in the demonseed article,
not the shapeshifting one! Sorry for the confusion!).

He portrayed these
"goblins" as descended from a race of genetically engineered
super-soldiers created 50,000 years ago by a technologically
advanced
prehistoric Ice Age super-civilization. The super-soldiers had
escaped
from the control of their human masters, infiltrated the
leadership of
their original masters, and manipulated them into destroying
their own
civilization in a thermonuclear holocaust. Even now, they were
plotting
to once again manipulate Humanity into a new thermonuclear
war to finish
off their ancient ancestors' unfinished business. While their
real shape
was reptilian, they could assume a convincing pseudo-human
appearance at
will--and were genetically programmed to retain their human
form, and
NOT revert to their reptilian true form, in case of accidental or
violent death. A few psychically gifted and sensitive human
beings, like
Koontz's hero and his girl-friend, were able to psychically
discern the
"goblins'" reptoid true form. In one scene, Koontz had his hero
penetrate into a vast multi-level underground city of the
"goblins"
underneath a small Pennsylvania town which they had totally
taken over,
an underground city where the "goblins" planned to hide out
and survive
during the thermonuclear war they were plotting. Koontz's
description of
the "goblins'" underground city somewhat reminds me of the
alleged Dulce
underground alien/US military base. I wonder where Dean
Koontz got his
ideas from, or what did/does he know?

Isn't it amazing how these same themes emerge in folklore,
myth, fiction, and personal witness accounts, again and again
down through the centuries?

Mike, Knowing that they adapt facts and secrets for the film industry
(Star-Gate, X-Files etc.) this could be where the sc-fi series called 'V'
originated? Hazel

Hazel,

As we see with excellent works like Etidorpha and The Time
Machine, profound or dangerous truths may sometimes be
concealed in, or disguised as, fiction.
