Yes, I did also when I looked at some of Jan's plates and they seemed to
portray somewhat of a mirage, or mountain in the distance, actually I think
it might have been the other side of the opening.

I don't think the concept of inertia is appropriate to use in this context. The ends bends up upward because the tendency of electrons to escape the hair strands in an upward direction. This can be caused by gravity if Cater is right. The hair strands themselves will not really lose wight, they just appear to be because of the upward flow of electrons. For matter to be made wight less and inertia less you have to impregnated it with negative charge to the extent that you even out the overall positive charge of matter.
