Blake and Others,
Sorry to be so misinterpreted. My comment was intended to be complimentary
of a very well presented position. In reading over my comment I can see
where it came across quite opposite of what I had intended. I was agreeing
with you that a spiritual approach is important, and that logic can also be
very useful. The quote of Moses 1:42 (corrected typo) was meant to be
tongue-in-cheek. I agree that most Mormons don't have a clue as to Hollow
Earth concepts, but a great many do. The majority seem to be stuck in the
same solid core theories that were indoctrinated into us throughout our
public education, as they continue to be. I think Dean's site gives a great
insight into many areas of possible explanation of those mysteries we are all
striving to solve. At the same time, I think there are the fictionalists who
continue to test their latest fabrications on this captive audience. We
agree on this. My past posts have also taken a strong stand against these
types of fiction writers, much to the consternation of Dean, no doubt. Sorry
about the misunderstanding. Great job in presenting a logical and accurate
representation of the Mormon beliefs.
It's these insights that give a certain depth to Mormon Hollow Earth
considerations, no pun intended.

Norlan,
I am sorry to have missed the tongue in cheek aspect of your post. No
offense from my post intended. I for one have found the hollow earth
theories to support every aspect of my understanding of creationism,
religion and science. In my searching of the resources available I have
had to sort out what I believe to be reliable and what seems to be hog
wash. I agree with your statement that there are a large percentage of
resources heavy into fictional mysticism and fantasy. I am 42 years old
and the older I become the more I become aware of how much there is to
learn but also how much fiction or half truth or deception there is to
sort through. I wish I could share what I have learned over time about
the search for truth. Maybe another time or forum.
Rodney Cluff's site (www.ourhollowearth.com) has been mentioned in
relation to scriptural insight into the HE theories. I read his site in
its entirety before his research and writings went off line. I have
found his theories and observations to be very enlightening. (I do want
to note that I have enjoyed Jan's and Dean's insights and web sites as
well and Dean I do intend to read Cater as soon as I have the time.)
Rodney, if you see this, I still intend to purchase access to your
e-book. In fact I will do it today if I can remember. I am impressed
with your compilation of Christian based scriptural references. I don't
understand why you removed this from general access on your web page. I
wish that it would be the one thing you would add back to your page for
general access.
On another note. I have decided to purchase a telescope and begin my
personal observations of the planets etceteras. At my local Sam's club
I have found a Meade Digital Electronic Reflector, 112 mm (4") aperture,
f/8 with altazimuth mount and their electronic Autostar computer
controller for approximately $240. Is anyone familiar with this and do
you have any comments. I saw a reference to a Meade ETX 60mm refracting
scope with the same Autostar for about the same $s. Just thought I
would ask.

Roy,
For the money, the Meade telescope is a good buy. The 4 " of aperture will
beat the smaller refractor.
For the money, it is a GREAT start.
You can find all kinds of used astro stuff at: www.astromart.com
Bill Vorce in Las Vegas sells used stuff and he is very honest. He is on the
Astromart fron page.

I've had a Schmitt Cassegrain for about 10 years, and I have just acquired a
huge Dobsonian.
