The book "The Montauk Project," explains how the ship reappeared. If they
didn't conduct the whole deal in the 1980's out at Montauk Point, the
Philadelphia Experiment would have been a complete flop, and much worse -
something about a "Vortex," or something that would have messed things up for
the world. I no longer have the book, and I read it a few years ago, sorry
for the lack of details.

PS Besides this book is very technical in certain areas. It is meant for the
more astute members of this site, not guys like me, but I still enjoyed it
immensely.
