Thanks for this reference. It does open up some interesting possibilities.
One of the major contradictions of Newtonian physics has to do with this very
topic. According to Newton's formulas the Sun has more gravitational pull on
the Moon than does the Earth. We all know this is preposterous or else the
Moon would be pulled away from the Earth toward the Sun in it's orbital path.
Newton's formulas also determine that the Sun not only has equal tidal
effect on the seas, but that it is supposed to have more effect on the tides
than does the Moon. Again, another preposterous result of the physics of
Newton's formulas. You would think that these obvious errors would create a
stir among physicists as obvious red flags as to the accuracy of Newtonian
physics. But no, these discrepancies are usually explained away as simple
glitches or misapplications of the formulaic math. However, !
some physicists
are starting to acknowledge these discrepancies, and they are starting to
question the validity of Newtonian Laws.
Yes, it is high time that these faults are exposed in a glaring fashion so
that the true nature of heavenly bodies and the forces that govern them can
be acknowledged.
Some feel confident that it is the fault of the dropped square sign of one of
Kepler's Laws of the Universe, which Newton omitted, is the basis of this
problem. What the correction of this formula does is reassign the strength
of the gravitational force to be much higher than that which the Newtonian
formula ascertains. This reassignment of gravitational force fits the
observed effects that we see in tidal relations to the Moon and the Sun. It
also corrects the incorrect conclusion that the Sun has more gravitational
pull on the Moon than does the Earth, and reverses that conclusion.
Why the establishment hangs on to such a faulty system as the Newtonian Laws
is the epitome of blind arrogance, and beyond my comprehension of what
sensible people would do is such cases.
I hope Cater's explanations have a sound logic to their premises and
conclusions in explaining these glaring problems with the revered Newtonian
mystique.
