Have you ever seen the "Arno Peters Projection Map," of the world? I have had
one hanging on my living room wall now for years; it is a great conversation
piece. I think it would be interesting for list members to look at as well.
Using satellite technology, it shows the earth in equal area projection.
Every square inch is equal to 158,000 square miles, therefore, it shows
everything in proportion to its size. It is based upon Arno Peters' decimal
grid which divides the surface of the earth into 100 longitudinal fields of
equal width and 100 latitudinal fields of equal height. The ISBN # for the
map is: 0-377-73009-0. I never tried to look it up on the Internet, so it may
be out there. It was produced with the help of the United Development
Program. There is a PO Box where you can order them, too.
