Dean and Group,
It's nice to hear that they are aware that there were other chapters which
were dropped. However, although a few elements of the dropped chapters are
repeated or alluded to in other chapters, the entire revelation of the
original mystery publisher and the overall covert tone of the introductory
chapters are not in any of the subsequent chapters. That includes the unique
experiment about discovering our perceptive abilities above and beyond our
gift of sight. This was given as part of the urgency and need by the author
to authenticate the story as a true account. It read as though he was
attempting to counter efforts which he knew were being made to squelch the
dessimination of the information in the book. It put a whole new tone on the
original reading of the work. Later readings had this almost antiseptic
cleansing of any covert activities, even though the dead body appeared in
a different light.
by the way, for what it is worth, I found some of my original notes on
Etidorhpa. I have two sources written down of the title, Etidorhpa - Or the
End of Earth, John Uri Lloyd, 1806. Both independent sources refer to 1806.
I have the library #, 808.832 L777e (or c). I don't know if that's a
Library of Congress number or not, but it was the number I used to find this
original version.
Maybe it will help. More to follow.
Norlan
Norlan,
Ok, that does it. We have to get the original from the Llyod museum.
But what are the names of the missing chapters? I guess that I could say "
give me the chapters that aren't included in the subsequent printings." It
would be nice, though, if I could tell him which ones by name. Anyone close
to Cincinati?
Dharma/Dean
Tuscan,
" With all chapters?"
Do you think that there are some chapters which even your book doesn't have?
I am going to ask the guy at the Llyod Museum to send a list of the original
table of contents.

In the copy that I purchased from Kessinger Publishing, in the back
portion of the book there is a page that says: ............. Also,
The Chapters Excluded from Former Editions of Etidorhpa. And I've
already emailed you what those chapters are in relation to the Table
of Contents that was earlier posted.
